Does your child struggle with functional communication skills, executive functioning skill, phonological processing or memory difficulties? Are they a registered NDIS participant?
LAB Learning Clinic can provide Therapeutic Supports through NDIS Funding (N.S.W and A.C.T) to assist your child to gain skills and improve independence in the following NDIS specified areas:
Language and Communication (including oral and written communication)
Executive function skills of : organisation, planning and prioritising, starting and staying focused on tasks, self-monitoring
Memory and retention of information
Development and Wellbeing
Therapeutic Supports are delivered by an MSL / OG Educational Therapist (program accredited by Australian Dyslexia Association) to assist and improve independence of communication skills. Sessions take place at school, home or one of our offices.
All therapy sessions are to develop functional communication skills. LAB Learning Clinic sessions are not designed to replace existing learning support in an educational environment. Rather we provide specialised pedagogy as set out by the Australian Dyslexia Association.
Who can Access the NDIS? To access the NDIS people must:
Live in a district where the NDIS is available;
Meet the age and residency requirements;
Meet disability and/or early intervention requirements.
Now Available: Social & Emotional skills development
Sessions are designed to help children who may be experiencing difficulties interacting with peers and friends.We aim to help develop their skills and confidence, while having fun and interacting socially. Once completed, parents/carers are provided with an individual report prepared by the Therapist, which can be useful in identifying future supports needed from the NDIS. Goals include: Turn taking, inhibition, asking and answering questions, identifying emotions, coping with winning and losing, conversation skills, emotion skills, social problem solving, cooperative play and team works.
